04: A body made of Canvas (a dream)

A few years ago I began the practice of meditation and mindfulness.
It began with a 10 day silent meditation where I had no phone, no books, no writing, no contact with the outside world and nothing except the contents of my own mind.
This experience changed me completely.

I don't meditate as much as I would like to and life speeds along but there have been periods where I have had a consistent practice. It is at these times that I tend to have very vivid dreams or even visions, with clear meanings.
I will now tell you of a dream I had.

I was observing a figure whose skin was made of plain grey canvas.
They had a seam down their centers and had no facial features.

This figure was walking through a white, featureless plain and they bumped into another figure and as a result they both got paint on themselves.

The figure continued walking and encountered their friend and gave them a hug and the hug exchanged the paint they had on their bodies.

Very soon, there were more figures and everyone had a unique pattern of paint on their bodies from things they had encountered.
2 of the figures had matching patterns that fit each other.
They connected because of their shared colors and patterns and went forth holding hands

Then I saw that these 2 same figures were now a mother and father holding a smaller figure in their arms.
The child was plain and without color.
The parents wanted their child to fit in to the world and to be a part of them so they took some of the paint off their bodies with paintbrushes and painted the child in their image.

Then I saw the white plain was filled with many of the figures, each with their unique splotches of paint on their bodies. Blue, Orange, Green.

I was suddenly zooming out from the individual figures in front of me and each canvas body becoming smaller and smaller.

Now I could see the figures as tiny dots but what then drew my attention was the fact that the splotches of paint were lining up, painting a bigger image.

From the points of color from the individuals, I saw a picture of a bigger figure and this bigger figure was as alive as the smaller figures.

I wont share my interpretation of this here, feel free to ask me directly.
Just know that you always have a paintbrush in your hand and the power to paint yourself and others.
